This Space War update for November 5, 2026, is a light-day report: official US military space channels posted no new release in the window, a Chinese Long March 2C remained Go for Launch from Xichang later today, and the Space Force Falcon 9 queue at Vandenberg held for Nov. 6–12 evening slots.[1][2][3] It follows the November 4 Space War update; the War Room gives context.

Adversary Space Activity

Opened sources for this window did not report a new Russian or Chinese anti-satellite test or confirmed on-orbit weapons event.[17][18] Schedule databases still show Chinese Long March flights later this month, including a Long March 12 SatNet entry on Nov. 8, without independent confirmation of military payloads.[19]

Launches & Constellations

Launch Library 2 listed a Long March 2C with an unknown payload as Go for Launch from Xichang Launch Complex 3 on Nov. 5 at 16:00 UTC (11:00 a.m. ET), with a window opening about eight minutes earlier.[20] As of the data cutoff the launch had not yet occurred.

The same database and Next Spaceflight still list SpaceX Falcon 9 missions USSF-432 for Nov. 7, 00:46 UTC (Nov. 6, 7:46 p.m. ET), USSF-627 for Nov. 10, 03:03 UTC (Nov. 9, 10:03 p.m. ET) and USSF-317 for Nov. 13, 04:23 UTC (Nov. 12, 11:23 p.m. ET), all from Vandenberg Space Launch Complex 4E and marked classified.[21][22][23][24] Those evening ET times match yesterday’s report.

US Space Force & Space Command

war.gov RSS carried no space-domain release in the window.[25] The Space Force RSS newest item remained the Nov. 2 Space Industry Days story, before this window; HTML news pages at spaceforce.mil returned HTTP 403 on one attempt.[26][27] spacecom.mil news HTML also returned 403 once, and the command RSS endpoint returned unrelated stale items rather than current Space Command releases.[28]

Space in Active Wars

Opened sources for this window did not add a newly documented battlefield satellite-jamming or GPS-denial event beyond coverage already carried in other War Room theaters.

Missile Warning and Defense

No new US missile-warning or intercept announcement tied to space sensors appeared on war.gov RSS in the window.[29]

Domestic Affairs

Office of Naval Research listed no news release dated Nov. 4–5.[30]

Statements

United States

Opened official feeds for this window did not add a new quotable Space Force or Space Command leadership statement inside the coverage dates; schedule confirmations above come from public launch databases rather than a fresh service press release.[31][32]

What to Watch

  • Whether the Nov. 5 Long March 2C launches on time from Xichang.
  • Whether USSF-432 holds for the evening of Nov. 6 from Vandenberg.
  • Any war.gov, Space Force or Space Command release once HTML access returns.
  • Long March 12 SatNet listing on Nov. 8.

Analysis

About the framework

Geography & Strategic Position

Xichang hosts today’s listed Chinese launch, while three classified Space Force Falcon 9 missions remain queued from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.[4][5]

Military & Security

Opened official feeds did not announce a new counterspace test, missile-warning shootdown or on-orbit engagement in this window.[6][7]

Alliances & Diplomatic Networks

No new allied space-defense communiqué appeared in opened war.gov or Space Force RSS items for the window.[8][9]

Economic & Industrial Power

The near-term US military launch queue still depends on SpaceX Falcon 9 vehicles from a single West Coast pad complex.[10][11]

Technology & Critical Infrastructure

Launch Library 2 still lists today’s Long March 2C payload as undisclosed and keeps USSF-432/627/317 marked classified.[12]

Domestic Politics & Information

spaceforce.mil HTML news pages returned HTTP 403 on one attempt; the service RSS showed no item newer than Nov. 2.[13][14]

Strategic Leverage & Outcomes

US interests today turn on whether the Chinese flight proceeds on schedule and whether USSF-432 holds for tomorrow evening from Vandenberg.[15][16]
