Peter’s World publishes news, analysis and commentary on geopolitics, warfare and world affairs. This page explains what our content is, and what it is not.

This page is written in plain language to explain how Peter’s World works. It is not legal advice.

Information only, not advice

Everything on this site, including articles, trackers, charts, data downloads and newsletters, is for general information only. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax, medical, military, security or travel advice, and reading it does not create a professional relationship of any kind. Do not make decisions about money, safety, travel or legal matters based only on what you read here. Check official sources and speak to a qualified professional.

Accuracy and developing stories

We work from official and primary sources first and link to them, but news changes quickly. Early reports can be wrong, figures are revised, and casualty counts often differ between sources. Developing stories are labeled as such. Content is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we make no promise that any content is complete, current or error-free. Check the publication date and our cited sources. To the fullest extent the law allows, Peter’s World is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its content. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as set out in our Terms of Service. If you find an error, please tell us; our process is on the Editorial Standards and Corrections page.

Allegations and attribution

When we report accusations against a person, group or government, we say who made them and describe them as allegations unless a court or official investigation has made a finding. Reporting an allegation does not mean we believe it is true. Being charged with or accused of a crime is not proof of guilt.

News, analysis and opinion

News reports describe what happened and who said what. Analysis explains context and possible outcomes. Opinion, commentary, open letters and advocacy material are labeled or written as such. Views in opinion pieces and quoted material belong to their authors, not to Peter’s World or any organization mentioned.

Use of AI tools

AI tools help us research, draft, translate and check articles. A person directs and reviews that work before publishing, and articles follow our sourcing and attribution standards. Many featured images are illustrations created with AI. They are labeled “AI-generated illustration” and are not photographs of real events.

Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate links

This site shows ads from Google AdSense. Ads are chosen by Google, are not endorsements, and advertisers have no say over our coverage. Peter’s World accepts voluntary reader donations and may accept business sponsorship. Sponsors are named and sponsored content is labeled, in line with the US Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guides. We do not currently use affiliate links. If we ever do, we will disclose them clearly next to the link and say that we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Sponsored content would be labeled “Sponsored” at the top. See Donate and Advertise.

External links

We link to outside websites, documents and social media posts as sources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices.

Machine translation

Translations into Farsi, Hebrew and Spanish are produced automatically by Google Translate and may contain errors. The English version is the official version.

Graphic and sensitive subjects

We cover war, executions and other violence. We describe these events factually and avoid graphic images, but some readers may find the subjects upsetting.
