Speech and Interview Transcripts

This library collects the text of major speeches, official statements, floor debates and interviews on geopolitics, war, security and diplomacy. It currently holds 19 transcripts from 23 speakers, dated July 22, 2026 to October 1, 2026: 13 with the complete text (80,112 words in all) and 6 excerpt-only entries that give a short labelled summary, up to three short quotes and a link to the original. Every transcript is a normal Peter’s World post, so it also appears in the site search and the Transcripts category.

Looking for single quotes? The Quote and Transcript Tracker lists short, attributed quotes and links each one to its full transcript here when we have one. For bills, votes and amendments see the Legislation Tracker.

How we label text. Text in quotation marks or marked Verbatim is copied word for word from the cited source. Text marked Summary or Editor’s note is our paraphrase; we keep it to a minimum.

This box uses the site’s own search, which looks through the complete text of every transcript post and handles exact phrases. Untick “Transcripts only” to search all of Peter’s World. The table below filters the library by speaker, country, type, topic and month, and its search box also looks inside the transcript text (see the note under the table).

About the table search: it matches titles, speakers, topics, summaries and an index of every word in the full-text transcripts, so a word like “sanctions” finds each transcript that uses it. A highlighted passage shows where the words appear, taken from a selection of key sentences in each transcript. For exact phrases across every sentence, use “Search full text” above.

Copyright policy

What we publish in full

  • US federal government works (public domain): White House, State Department, War Department and UN Mission remarks, and the Congressional Record.
  • UK Crown and Parliament material under the Open Government Licence or Open Parliament Licence: GOV.UK speeches and statements, and Hansard.
  • kremlin.ru English transcripts under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, with credit to kremlin.ru. They are translations and say so.

What we only excerpt

  • Interviews and reports from networks, newspapers, wire services, podcasts and similar outlets (for example CNN, Fox News, NBC, the New York Times, Reuters, AP, The Hill).
  • Any source whose terms are unclear or require permission, including UN press and meetings pages and NATO transcripts.
  • For these we show up to three verbatim quotes of 50 words or fewer, add a very short labelled summary (our paraphrase, 45 words at most), and link to the original. They are flagged Excerpt only, full text at source.

How we verify

How the text is checked

  • We open the original page and save a copy of it. The transcript text is taken from that copy without changing any wording. We only normalise spacing, add paragraph breaks and tidy speaker labels.
  • An automated check confirms that every paragraph and every excerpt appears in the saved copy, and a person reads the result. [inaudible] and [crosstalk] appear only where the source prints them.
  • Each post says “Verified against source”, names the publisher and links to the original so you can compare.

Credit, translations and context

  • The original publisher is credited and linked on every transcript, with the licence and a link to its terms.
  • Translated texts say who produced the translation. We do not retranslate.
  • Congressional Record pages can include material submitted by others. Hansard and GOV.UK pages keep their own labels. We publish speeches as the record gives them and do not rate or interpret what the speakers say.

Sources and licences

Each transcript post records the licence, the link to the terms and the date it was checked.
