Russia Shows Mi-28 Firing Small Cruise Missile in Ukraine
Russia’s Defense Ministry released video of a Mi-28NM firing a small cruise missile, likely the S8000 Banderol or Dan-T, supposedly over Ukraine, TWZ said.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has released footage it says shows a Mi-28NM Havoc attack helicopter firing a small, low-cost cruise missile during combat in Ukraine, TWZ reported on Nov. 6, 2026. The ministry gave no date, precise location or target details, so the combat claim is unverified.
What the video shows
One missile is seen leaving a pylon under the left stub wing, and the helicopter returns with an unfired missile on the right, TWZ said. The ministry did not name the weapon, which TWZ said could be either the S8000 Banderol or the closely related Dan-T.
TWZ’s report also includes an image of a Mi-28NM with the missile mounted, and it said unconfirmed Ukrainian reports in August described launches over the Sea of Azov.
The missile
Ukraine’s military intelligence (GUR) has described the Banderol, developed by Russia’s Kronstadt company, as about 16.4 feet long with pop-out wings and a small turbojet, according to TWZ. TWZ said it reportedly flies at around 310 mph, with a range of up to 310 miles and a warhead of about 110 pounds.
What to watch
Assessment: A helicopter launch would give Russia another way to fire inexpensive standoff weapons from behind the front. Geolocated footage or debris would be needed to confirm operational use.
