The Israeli military issued fresh evacuation orders in southern Lebanon on Monday, warning residents of Deir Zahrani to leave a designated zone ahead of strikes on what it called a Hezbollah facility after an explosive drone was launched toward Israeli forces.
Arab News reported the IDF Arabic-language message that Hezbollah activity compelled forceful action and that civilians who remained would be at risk. Hezbollah Al-Manar later reported strikes on Deir Zahrani. The order followed what Israeli officials described as the first evacuation notice in Lebanon in about a month, aimed at a building in Arab Salim. Lebanese coverage also listed activity around Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Jabal al-Rafi, and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah.
Israel says Hezbollah has repeatedly violated the June framework; Hezbollah rejects the premise that Israel continued presence in a self-declared security zone is consistent with that framework. Beirut reading centers on Israeli withdrawal and state monopoly on arms. Jerusalem reading centers on disarmament first and residual freedom to strike.
Diplomacy is on a slower calendar. Preparatory meetings linked to support for the Lebanese Army have been discussed around mid-September in Paris, and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is due to meet U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on September 28 at the U.N. General Assembly. Until Rome produces enforceable sequencing, evacuation maps will keep substituting for a settlement.
